Description
Short (one sentence)
Hedroom is a Mac app for Apple Silicon that tells you, in plain words, what is slowing your Mac, fixes it with your consent, and proves the result with a measured receipt.
Long
Hedroom is a native macOS utility for Apple Silicon Macs. It watches memory pressure, swap, CPU, thermals, battery and storage, and names the one app that matters instead of showing a count of "problems". When there is a fix, such as relaunching a leaking app, moving a background app to the efficiency cores or pausing it, Hedroom explains it first and acts only when you say so. Afterwards it writes a receipt: readings before, readings after, and one honest verdict, including "No measurable effect." when that is the truth.
Hedroom has no Free RAM button, because emptying the file cache makes a Mac slower, not faster. It never pauses or quits anything signed by Apple, never deletes anything without permission each time, and keeps app names, usage and receipts on the Mac. It is made by Pointerflow LLC.

What it is, and what it is not
What it is
- A diagnostic that judges memory by pressure and swap, not "used RAM".
- A set of consented fixes: relaunch, efficiency cores, pause, storage cleanup to the Trash, startup items.
- A receipt for each action, with an honest verdict.
- Tools for startup items, displays, power and fans, local AI memory fit and tab sleep. See features.
What it is not
- Not a RAM cleaner. There is no button that frees memory.
- Not antivirus or malware scanning.
- Not a service. There is no account, no cloud sync and no analytics in 1.0.
- Not made or endorsed by Apple.
What is different, and true
- No Free RAM button. Emptying cached files makes apps reread them from disk. Our guide explains it and how to test it yourself.
- Receipts. Readings from about 5 minutes before an action are compared with 5 to 15 minutes after. The verdict can be "Measured", "No measurable effect." or "Not measurable" See receipts.
- Consent. No silent quits, force quit needs a second confirmation, and nothing is deleted without permission each time. See what Hedroom never does.
- Apple's own processes are explain-only. Hedroom explains kernel_task or WindowServer and never pauses or demotes them.
- Local. App names, usage, history and receipts stay on the Mac. See privacy.

Using the name and icon
- Use the icon and name as given. Do not recolor, stretch, rotate or add effects to the icon.
- Keep clear space around the icon of at least a quarter of its width.
- Write the name as "Hedroom", with a capital H and no other capitals.
- Do not suggest that Apple makes, endorses or reviewed Hedroom. Mac, macOS and Apple Silicon are trademarks of Apple Inc. Pointerflow LLC is not affiliated with Apple.
- Do not use the icon in a way that suggests we endorse a product, a person or an article.
Facts for reviewers
Honest limits, so you do not have to find them yourself.
- Apple Silicon only. Intel Macs are not supported.
- Fan control is MacBook Pro only. It needs a small helper that you approve in System Settings. A MacBook Air has no fans, and other Macs keep their fans on automatic.
- Safari is not supported by the browser companion, because Safari extensions cannot put tabs to sleep.
- Small fixes can read "No measurable effect." That is the receipt being careful, not a failure.
- Not on the Mac App Store. The sandbox does not allow the features that matter. An App Store edition with fewer features is being evaluated.
- Measured on one Mac so far. Overhead and a short end-to-end run were measured on one M3 Pro. Runs on 8 GB and 16 GB Macs are still planned. See requirements and the roadmap.
- Not yet released. A signed, notarized build is not downloadable yet, and the helper has not been verified on a signed build.
