Billing, trial and refunds: what happens and when
Pro starts with a 7-day free trial that needs a card. This page follows one purchase from checkout to the second payment, and says what to do at each step if you want to stop.
Checkout is closed until the first signed build can be downloaded, because the trial starts the moment someone pays. Until then every buy button on pricing joins the waitlist. This page describes what will happen from the first sale.
In order
1. Checkout
Pick a plan on pricing. You go to a Stripe page, where you enter a card. Stripe holds the card data, and Hedroom never sees it. There is no Hedroom account and no password: your license key is the identity.
The trial starts at checkout and nothing is charged for 7 days. If the trial reaches its end with no usable card on file, the subscription is cancelled rather than charged. The free trial is for first-time customers. If you have already had a trial with the same email address or the same card, the first payment is taken at once.
2. The welcome page
Stripe sends you to a welcome page that shows your license key once, with a Copy button, and the date the trial ends. It can take up to about a minute for the key to be ready, and the page says so if it is not. The same key is emailed to the address you gave at checkout. Copy it somewhere safe.
3. Activate in the app
- In Hedroom, open Settings and press Enter license key.
- Paste the key and press Activate. Hedroom says "You're Pro."
- The license card then shows Hedroom Pro · free trial and a "Trial ends" date.
4. Days 1 to 7
Everything in Pro works. Each fix gets a receipt, so by the end you can see what Hedroom did for your Mac and what it could not measure. What stays free either way is on Free vs Pro.
5. The first payment
If you do nothing, the plan starts when the trial ends and renews every year, or every month on the monthly plan, until you cancel. Stripe emails a receipt for each payment. Hedroom does not send its own reminder before the trial ends, so write the date down when you start.
To stop before you are charged
- Open Manage your subscription, or press Manage subscription in Hedroom's Settings.
- Enter your license key. You go to a billing page hosted by Stripe.
- Cancel there, before the 7 days end. You pay nothing.
- Check the license card in Settings, which should show when Pro ends.
The billing page also lets you update your card and see invoices. It does not let anyone change your name, address or email. Anyone who holds the key can open it, so keep it private.
Cancelling later
Cancelling stops the next renewal. Pro keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. Then the Mac goes back to the free features, and your data is kept. Cancelling does not refund the current period by itself. Uninstalling Hedroom does not cancel anything, so cancel first.
Refunds
- Within 30 days of any payment, first or renewal, you can have it back with no reason needed.
- Email support@hedroomapp.com from the address you bought with, or mention it, so the payment can be found.
- The refund is made through Stripe to the card you paid with. How long your bank takes to show it is outside our control.
- A full refund ends Pro. A partial refund does not. A dispute with your bank also ends Pro. Hedroom notices at its next license check, about every 7 days.

When a payment fails
If a renewal payment does not go through, Pro stays on for a 7-day grace period and then pauses until the payment goes through. Update your card on the billing page above. Your rules, receipts and settings are kept.
If this did not work
- The key did not show on the welcome page. Use Manage your subscription, enter the email you used at checkout and ask for a new key. It is sent to that address only, and the old key keeps working until you use the new one.
- The charge is not one you expected. Write to support@hedroomapp.com before disputing it, and we will sort it out.
- Hedroom still says Free after you paid. Enter the key again with Enter license key and check your connection.
